Global Innovation Academy Certified Trainer (GIA-CIT) Code of Ethics, Professional Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement

The below code articulates the values and desired behavior that Global Innovation Academy (GIA) wishes to foster in its certified trainers and training providers. The Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct outlines a set of principles that affect decision-making and specific behaviors that are required or prohibited as a condition of ongoing GIA certified trainers.

Our code is a central guide and reference for GIA Certifies trainers to support their day-to-day decision making. A code encourages discussions of ethics and compliance, empowering trainers to handle ethical dilemmas they encounter in everyday work/training.

GIA Board enforces the Code by receiving and investigating all complaints of violations and by taking disciplinary action, including revocation of certification against any member and trainer who is personally found to be guilty of Code violation, or who as a professional employee, or officer of GIA training Provider, is found to be willfully supporting a practice of Code violation. Members who don't comply with the behavioral code will be removed from the directory of GIA Certified Trainers after conducting a proper investigation to confirm their deviant behavior.

1. Code of Ethics

GIA certified trainers must:

  • Act with integrity, competence, diligence, respect, and in an ethical manner with the public, clients, prospective clients, trainees, clients' employees, colleagues in the profession, and other participants in the relevant training and development markets.
  • Recognize the rights and dignities of each individual and develop human potential. contribute to the continuing growth of the profession.
  • Place the integrity of the profession and the interests of clients above their own personal interests.
  • Provide GIA authorized Training providers, clients, and learners with the highest-level quality training, facilitation and development.
  • Use reasonable care and exercise independent professional judgment when conducting training evaluation, providing recommendations, taking HRD actions, and engaging in other professional activities.
  • Practice and encourage others to practice in a professional and ethical manner that will reflect credit on themselves and the profession.
  • Promote the integrity and uphold the GIA rules governing GIA Certified Trainer programs.
  • Keep informed of pertinent knowledge and competence in the workplace learning and talent development field. Maintain and improve their professional competence and strive to maintain and improve the competence of their clients according to GIA standards.
  • Comply with all copyright laws and the laws and governing regulations. Maintain confidentiality and integrity in the training and development practice.
  • Fairly and accurately represent trainer professional credentials, qualifications, experience, and ability

 

2. Standards of Professional Conduct

PROFESSIONALISM

A. Qualifying trainers. GIA Certified trainers should be prepared and get qualified for each specific GIA certification training program based on their knowledge and expertise. GIA certified trainers shall not conduct or participate as trainers in any GIA programs except for the specific ones that he/she is certified by GIA to deliver on behalf of GIA-AGTP.

B. Professional Attitude. The reliance of client organisations onto the advice of trainers imposes an obligation to maintain high standards of integrity and competence. In recognition of the public interest and their obligation to the profession, members & trainers must:

  • Exercise independence in thought and action.
  • Hold the affairs of their clients in strict confidence.
  • Continuously strive to improve their professional skills.
  • Advance professional standards of training.
  • Treat people fairly, while taking account of human, cultural, and other differences.
  • Uphold the honor and dignity of the profession.
  • Maintain the GIA standards of personal conduct.
  • Promote fair, engaging, safe and sustainable learning environment.
  • Strive to achieve the balance between interest as a trainer and that of the client.

 

C. Independence and Objectivity. GIA certified trainers must maintain independence and objectivity in their professional activities. They must not offer, solicit, or accept any gift, benefit, compensation, or consideration that reasonably could be expected to compromise their own or another's independence and objectivity.

D. Misinterpretation. GIA certified trainers must not knowingly make any misrepresentations relating to training & HRD, recommendations, actions, or other professional activities.

E. Misconduct. GIA certified trainers must not engage in any professional conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, or deceit or commit any act that reflects adversely on their professional reputation, integrity, or competence.

F. Disclosure of Conflicts. GIA certified trainers must make full and fair disclosure of all matters that could reasonably be expected to impair their independence and objectivity or interfere with respective duties to their clients, prospective clients, and trainees. They must ensure that such disclosures are prominent, are delivered in plain language, and communicate the relevant information effectively.

G. Non-Compete. GIA certified trainers agree not to work with nor start any business that directly competes with Global Innovation Academy business and will not solicit Global Innovation Academy and GIA-AGTP existing clients for any business that competes with Global Innovation Academy business for the duration of the Agreement and for the period of thirty-six (36) months immediately following the termination of the Agreement.

 

REPONSIBILITIES AS GIA CERTIFIED TRAINER

A. Conduct as a trainer in any training program. GIA certified trainers must not engage in any conduct that compromises the reputation, integrity, validity, or security of the GIA examinations. GIA certified trainers shall always reflect Global Innovation Academy training programs in a positive manner by maintaining high quality training standards and professionalism.

B. Reference to GIA, AGTP, and the GIA Training Programs. When referring to GIA, GIA membership, the GIA AGTP, or candidacy in any GIA Programs, GIA certified trainers must not misrepresent or exaggerate the meaning or implications of membership in GIA, holding the GIA designation, or candidacy in the GIA Program. They must show the ultimate respect to all GIA-related issues as well.

C. Conduct GIA training through AGTP. GIA certified trainers shall only conduct the GIA Certified training program(s) he/she is qualified and approved by GIA. GIA certified trainers shall only deliver GIA Certified training program(s) through GIA Authorised Training provider (GIA-AGTP) for the region.

D. Enhance and develop trainer competencies. GIA certified trainers shall continuously develop own knowledge, skills and enhance below GIA CIT core competencies:

  • Do not attempt to train in competency areas in which the trainer lacks sufficient knowledge, skill, and/or first-hand experience

3. Confidentiality and Proprietary Information Agreement

Integral to GIA's business success is our protection of confidential company information, as well as nonpublic information entrusted to us by employees, customers and other business partners. Confidential and proprietary information including but not limited to management policies and procedures, documentations (forms, templates, manual, training material, exercise, exam questions etc.), pricing, financial data, customers' contacts or nonpublic information about GIA, GIA-AGTP, GIA partners and their suppliers and vendors. GIA certified trainers shall not reveal or disclose confidential and nonpublic information to third parties at any time without proper authorization from GIA.

GIA Training Materials, including any associated intellectual property rights, are and shall always remain the sole property of Global Innovation Academy, regardless of whether GIA-AGTP, its employees, trainers or contractors have contributed to the conception of such work, assisted in the development, or paid Global Innovation Academy for the use thereof. GIA-AGTP and GIA certified trainers shall neither acquire nor assert copyright or trademark ownership, or any other proprietary rights regarding Training Materials, or any derivation, adaption, or variation thereof.

GIA resources, including Training program details, training material, exercises, sample exam questions, case studies, videos, and other training resources and information, are provided under a limited license for GIA certified trainers to effectively deliver GIA authorized certified training programs according to GIA professional requirements and standards.

GIA certified trainers are trusted and responsible for the GIA resources assigned to them (provided by GIA, GIA-AGTP directly or through its websites) and are empowered to proper use relevant resources for the solo purpose of conduct and deliver their authorised GIA Certified training programs only. Global Innovation Academy licensed materials will only be used under the terms stated in this Agreement and will not be resold or shared with third parties.

Under no circumstances shall Training Materials, or any portions thereof, be duplicated, reproduced or furnished to anyone by GIA certified trainers without written approval from GIA. (The terms "duplicate" and "reproduce" shall include any form of copying, in whole or in part, using machine, digitisation, scanning, writing by hand, photographing, or any other means of manual or machine-based physical, electronic, or digital reproduction using physical media (such as paper) or any electronic means).

Before starting each GIA training program, GIA-AGTP or GIA certified trainers shall inform all participants about GIA training material copyrights so participants shall not copy, duplicate, reproduce or allow third parties access to GIA Training Materials without GIA authorization.

GIA certified trainers shall only use the Training Materials provided by Global Innovation Academy during the training. GIA may, at its sole discretion, issue updates to Training Materials (workbooks, study guides, handouts etc.) for (i) corrections, or (ii) enhancements/improvements to content, at such frequency that it determines as appropriate. Any changes and updates to the study materials will be made available to GIA-AGTP and relevant GIA certified trainers.

GIA certified trainers shall official notify GIA upon termination of employment and/or service with GIA-AGTP.

It is agreed that the content of this Code of Ethics, Professional Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement is based on the moral obligation and undivided commitment to meet all and every statement above.
